Spicy Black Bean Burgers

A lot of us are apart of operation Summer Body! Now is definitely time to show those love handles some tough love and those greasy burgers whose the boss!
Well I am definitely losing winter weight and this black bean burger has helped curb my Jr bacon cheeseburger cravings! It’s really simple and inexpensive. I was able to make a total of 12 nice sized burgers for less than $10 (not including the seasonings which I had on hand).

Ingredients :
15 oz can of black beans
2 large eggs (can be substituted with flax gel)
Italian bread cups ( about two cups)
1/2 Jalapeño (add as much as you want)
1/4 of any color pepper( I always feel like red and green belong together)

 Seasonings:
Chili powder
Sea salt
Minced garlic
Onion
Black pepper

Add your can of beans into a large bowl and mash them with a potato smasher or you can use a food processor.

Next add all of your dry ingredients and eggs. If you have been following Crock-Pot Sunday then you know that I am a dash of this and pinch of that person. Season to your taste!

I did sauté my jalapeno and red pepper with a tad bit of coconut oil before mixing. I wanted to make sure that they wouldn't be to tough since the burgers only need to cook for a few minutes.

This is how your final mix should look, it should be thick and gritty from the bread crumbs. The egg is the binder to keep them together while cooking.

Now here's the fun part! If you have littles this will be fun for them, they get to learn a skill and you have no worries with raw meat being in everything!

Roll and make your patties!

You do not need any oil to cook these patties. I usually use the cast iron skillet to give it a nice hot crust. The patty only needs to cook about two minutes in each side.

That's all! Really simple, easy and yummy!! Let me know if you try it out!

Until Next Time
